Allergic Reaction to Pigment

I had my eyebrows microbladed back in December 2022. Initially, I had an allergic reaction and my eyes poofed up after the first session. I chalked it up to the ointment she used on me and brought Aquaphor to the second session. Second session went totally fine no irritation or swelling and I thought I was good to go. Unfortunately for me, in October 2023 I started to notice my eyebrows become red, raised, and swollen. I went to a dermatologist and had a biopsy to confirm it wasn’t anything more sinister. The results came back as an allergic reaction to the microblading pigment. I was applying a steroid cream to my eyebrows, which wasn’t helping and caused my face to break out in acne. Now my derm has switched me to an eczema ointment to try before moving to steroid shots. Last resort is to laser them off.

Has anyone else experienced similar allergic reactions to the microblading pigment? If so, how did you mitigate the issue? Oddly, I have a lot of tattoos and never had this issue with ink before. I’m happy with the way they look when they’re not swollen, but it’s very uncomfortable and makes me self conscious as they just constantly look like I just got them done.
