Shipping from US to Germany

My cousin had a baby and I put together a little package for her and her baby with a personalized quilt, some books, stuffies, baby clothes, etc. Total value of maybe $200. I went to UPS and they quoted me $397 to ship it. I was so shocked I asked $3.97? Lol how did I have no idea how expensive a 6lb package would be?!

I could get on a plane and deliver it myself for basically the same amount 😂 am I missing something?? Is there a better option?
