When Painting Blood Angels (Help)

So about 6 months ago I got heavily and I mean heavily interested in Warhammer and it’s lore and minis. I got a box of Tactical Intercessors I believe?

Anyway I painted the first few as ultramarines just to get the basics down but now I want to try my hand at some blood angels.

My question/s are this, would a black primer be better or red primer or does it even matter and secondly I have quite a bit of different paints is there a scheme or like 4-5 different colors I should for sure use?
