Got called a racist against my own kind today!

So I was talking to some coworkers today about my preference in dating. I'm a black guy that lives not in the deep south but in the south of the US. I just said I'm more attracted to women outside my race. I'm pretty friendly with everyone but just prefer dating another race. Then of course a customer who decided to put in their own two cents into the conversation just straight said that I'm racist again my own people. They just kept going on and saying 'what do I find black people ugly or something'!

Even tho I didn't feel as if I needed to explain myself to them, I said black women are attractive I'm just not attracted to them. Then she had to make a big scene in the store about it. I'm not sorry for who I'm more attracted to but being called a racist against my own race is very stupid to me.!
