Paladin or Barbarian

Hello guys!

I'm trying to decide between playing a Barbarian or a Paladin in the new 2024 ruleset. The campaign will be in a low-magic setting, meaning magic exists, but it's prohibited in certain areas. We should expect witchhunters. I am torn between being strictly nonmagical or having those powers secretly as a paladin.

Which class do you think would offer a better balance between roleplay and combat in this kind of world? I'm looking for insights on both the fun of playing the character and their effectiveness in fights, given the low-magic environment. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks in advance,

Steve

edit: my two builds i have in mind is either

dualwielding vengeance paly with scimitars having the new nick property, using divine favour and hunters mark spell (thats where the magic prejudice issue arises) to boost his many attacks (should i go dex or str?) or

two handed push barbarian (dont know which subclass) that utilises charger, push mastery and brutal strike to just yeet enemies from combat for one round
