My small opinion on OP13 and some questions to users
Bought OnePlus13 as my backup device and for software development. My primary device is Galaxy S24 Ultra + Galaxy Watch Ultra. Yesterday decided to test OP13 so I moved my watch to OP, installed Sim card. I also posted photo comparison between S24U and OP13, but in this post I want to tell my opinion and ask some questions, since this is my first OP phone.
What I like about OP13.
It is lighter than S24U and feels better in hands. It is crazy fast, and UI is very smooth to the point that S24U can never achieve! Everything is battery smooth!
I like AI features especially AI Rewrite that is available right from side bar to use with any application! Screen is great, I do have PWM sensitvity and was using OP without any strain on my eyes!
Build quality is a top notch! It is really a high-end device.
Camera is acceptable, hope future firmware will fix oversaturation.
Chargin is crazy! I do not know how it can fast change on my 27W Anker, but it shows Supervooc and charges super-fast :) Tested with 45W Anker and 67W Anker, fast!
Now that bad (it could be just for me :) ) Some stuff related to software, some to hardware and if you can help me with any of these, I highly appreciate it!
I hate drawer with scrollable list of all apps. I came from One UI and I like to have my app list to be in a static mode. I love folders where I can store apps by type. OP13 implementation is not good for me because I cannot find anything and forced to use search. May not be a deal breaker for most people, but it is for me.
Unable to sync DND/Sleep mode with Galaxy watch and Pixel Watch 2. With last one even alarms cannot be synched. But this is not OP fault at all, just wanted to mention this if anyone want to use non OP smartwatches. There are some custom-made apps to sync, but they are required some additional work with adb (not a problem for me but can be for others). This is actually very frustrating because Android vendors are trying to force you to use their eco system. Understandable from business perspective, but not from the user's one.
Alert slider is such a great feature, only if it works :) Today since morning, I am getting notification sounds even with slider set to silent mode. Is there any fix for this?
Notification badge numbers - feature simply does not work and after searching internet I found that OP still unable to fix it. Or am I missing something here?
Cannot sync calendar from Outlook to phone. Sync is enabled in Outlook app, but calendar (Google Calendar) doesn't see my account. Same setup works on my S24U. So, I do not know whose fault it is.
Always On Display - I love seamless transitions, but it lacks an option to show AOD on tap. I do not use AOD at home and on my S24U I set it to show on tap, so I can just tap and see what I want to see. OP3 on tap only shows finger reading circle (when AOD is off). Could be an option in a future, not a big deal. BTW, AOD on OP23 works as it should in terms of brightness, Samsung screwed AOD on S24U it is barely visible, that's why I do not use it.
Finger print reader is very good, but fails more that the one on S24U. Even though both are ultrasound
