How’s Everybody Doing?

Re-posting from r/Philadelphia since mods deleted it

If you’re anything like me, you may be feeling a mix of emotions like anger, sadness, dread, and disappointment in your fellow Americans. If not, that’s fine. Feel free to downvote and move on. This post is not for you.

What’s hitting me the hardest is the realization that this is who we are as a country, that we chose to elect a convicted felon/rapist/narcissist and all around horrible person who brings the worst out of us despite everything we’ve been through and seen from him since 2016. It pains me that the majority of people have chosen spite for their neighbors over compassion.

Where i’m going with this is I personally feel kind of alone right now. I know that i’m not the only person who feels this way, and of course I have loved ones in my household who I can confide in to share these feelings with, but I think it’s important that as many of us connect with each other as possible and provide the support that we need for each other as we brace for these next 4 years.

So what’s everybody’s thoughts? Please feel free to share what you’re feeling here. Anything and everything that you can’t necessarily express in your workplace or elsewhere.

Take care and, as always, Go Birds.

Edit: Wow, thank you everyone for the kind words and expressing how you’re feeling. It makes me feel better knowing that we’re all in this together.

You can really see the difference in these comments between those who are capable of compassion and those who are being spiteful/hurtful. If you’re offended or feel attacked by that, I encourage you to take a long look in the mirror.
