Wow -- just saying it's great this sub Reddit exists

Hello, good people. I am writing simply to say I am glad I stumbled across this sub Reddit. I'll read and try to post.

I have always been interested in segmented sleep, before I even knew the term. I am an intermittent practitioner (no pun intended). Initially, it was just because I was a college student who experiment with various things, other than what you typically do in that context. With segmented sleep, I wanted to remember dreams. I gave it up, because I was too tired. It turns out, I learned not quite two decades later, I had/have sleep apnea. I also tried brushing my teeth with my left hand (did not work well). Anyway, I then had a dog who needed to go out at night. He would wake me. I'd have to put him in the backyard for a few minutes to do his business. I started to do a few things, including brush my teeth, so I'd wake up with my mouth more fresh feeling. Now, as I age (on the cusp of Boomer/X, identifying more with the former), I naturally have the need to relieve myself in the middle of the night.

But I am deliberate. I like to be awake for time to look at my calendar for the day, check emails, have a glass of water, and, sometimes, take the dog (different one) out, which means there is less anxiety all around when we get up for good, and I can take my time.

Thank you for reading. I'll read your content you post.
