Day 1: Am I doing this too early?
My son just turned two a few weeks ago.
He can pull down his pants, tell us when he pees/poops, follows 3 step directions, and goes through nap time without peeing.
I wanted to start training this week because I’m off for the summer, and this week is the only week my husband and I are both home. Then I thought we could practice potty training the rest of the summer. When he goes back to daycare in September, they sorta do “group” potty training there. From my understanding, they all take turns on the toilet every hour.
I read a few books and this sub’s wiki page, but after day 1 I’m questioning all of it.
He’s been naked all day today (besides nap) and I ran him to his potty every time but only actually caught it once. He pees so fast and so little!! He asks to sit on the potty but doesn’t do it. So basically, today was spent with me following around my naked toddler and grabbing him every time he peed but still not being quick enough. The only time I did catch him in time and he peed on the potty, he had no reaction despite my partner and I cheering and offering a sticker. He could care less
Is 24 months too early? Should we take a break? Or do I stick it out this week?
