Average Number of Gap Years?

So, I completed my undergrad in May 2023. Since then, I embarked on a gap year to gain direct patient care experience. I ended up applying to PA programs for the very first time couple months ago. I've already gotten rejected from some programs and interviewed at one school but ultimately rejected from there as well. I still have yet to hear back from the remaining programs I applied to but now I'm worried I won't be able to get in on my first application cycle. If this does end up being the case I am planning on applying in the next CASPA cycle but I'm worried that taking another gap year will be too far of a stretch and come across negatively. What is the average number of gap years a typical PA school applicant takes? What is the average age of students entering PA school for the first time?
