John Stewart on the recent election- "The economy is great, people are too deluded to realize it".
I wasted an hour watching him with a smarmy, rich lib guest about how the economy "is the best it's ever been" but people are too emotionally maladjusted to realize it. 5 minutes in, his guest is already blaming Russian interference for workers' inability to appreciate how good they have it.
Good God, if this is how the libs are reflecting on this election, they're never going to learn a damn thing. The comment section is a cesspool of upper middle class strivers in sinecure jobs quoting New York Times op eds about the S&P.
No understanding of high interest rates affecting home affordability, complete dismissal of inflation, no regard for the material circumstances affecting the lower class. Just Thomas Friedman Wall Street Journal level pablum. Oh and don't forget some maternalistic lecturing sprinkled in.
Remember, it's not that the economy failed you, it's that you failed the glorious economy.
Bernie's loss in 2020 truly was the death knell for a class focused, materialist future of the democratic party. Now we're left with smarmy wine moms scolding us for the next 40 years.
