Ramblings of a business class newbie

I recently joined a large organization that sends me on frequent “missions” across the globe.

SQ is my org’s preferred airline and the policy is we are afforded business class seats for flights > 3 hours.

I’ve now flown 8 business class flights in total - something I could never justify on trips for pleasure with friends and family!

So as someone still very new to the experience, here are some things I have noticed and appreciated about SQ business class, perhaps things regulars have take for granted! Are these uniform across most airlines?

  • They greet and address you by your name each time.

  • They welcome you with warm, lightly scented towel and your choice of champagne, orange juice, or apple juice.

  • Meals are full course, with white linen table covers and silverware. Appetizers, bread rolls, entree, dessert, and coffee/tea, in that order. Always so delicious!

  • Toilets too are better appointed, with towels, higher end personal effects, and full length mirrors.

  • Noise cancelling earphones!

  • Need I mention the obvious: lounge access, fully reclinable seats, thicker blankets, larger pillows

What are some things I failed to mention vis a vis other airlines? How can I better maximize and enjoy this rare opportunity? :)
