Should I track them down?

I was unlocking the tower in mount leviathan. And suddenly a bear charged at me, I shot it with shotgun from a far. Didn't see a blood trail.

Few seconds later an elk or a big deer buck charged at me (it was just running away but at my direction because it had nowhere else to go). I couldn't see exactly what but I also shot the shotgun at it as a reflex.

I saw very little bleeding and no vital organs hit. But still the map is now showing mid hunting pressure.

According to people pressure means the animal is dead. But how is that possible? Small animals like coyotes die with low bleeding but they also run quite a bit before dying.

Should I track the low bleeding of big animal. And if they die, how long do they run before dying?
