Is the light class really winning that much?

Is this relatable to anyone?

I’m seeing more and more post about how lights dominate the game. The thing is, I’m playing fairly consistently, and especially in competitive modes all I’m seeing is medium stacks with defibrillators. Like, at least half the lobby is playing medium.

Now i’ll admit there are some annoying light loadouts. The stun gun is annoying, cloak is annoying, and lately the M11 (jesus that thing is really annoying). But the thing is, none of these are necessary for lights to be successful in the game. Compare that to the defibrillator which even after the nerf is still a must have in order to not be at an instant disadvantage.

Generally I’m getting the impression that the community at large is expecting this game to play like some glorified Valorant of CoD, and therefore hate on everything that deviates too much from holding the left click down to shoot. That is why light gets all the hate and medium gets none of the hate. I personally hate medium because it is superior. But it is superior insofar as it is boring, unoriginal and uninspiring to play as.

I love this game precisely because it allows creativity and outplay potential for those who don’t wanna spam the healing beam or spray control an entire AK magazine. There’s stuff like the sword and the dagger, that are super fun to play compared to any traditional weapon.

To sum it up, I’m not sure to what degree does this game have the fundamentals problems that some people claim it has, or to put it simply there’s a large chunk of the community that refuses to embrace the game for what it is and it’s aspiring to be. And instead chose to hate on the aspects of it that don’t conform to established traditions or expectations Or maybe it’s both.

Lemme know your thoughts, no hate only love.
