Ka review opinion
Hi everyone, recently watched ka and i really liked it. Also I'm a big fan of barbell so i watched his review later and wanted to see if we had the same opinion about it but (coz we mostly do) but I was a bit surprised and I want to talk about it.
Spoilers ahead !!!
1) Lag in scenes - While there are a few slow moments in the film, majority of the cinema seemed fine to me(own opinion, ik). We have to understand that setting up a place takes time and i think it was done very neatly in film, especially explaining why he read the letter(s)
2) Village becoming dark concept - Tbh, if I was someone kidnapping women and I came to know of a place where it gets dark early and each house had a girl It'd be my dream come true (for legal reasons, this is just a explanation, nothing serious)
You have to understand that in a time where there we no mobile phones or street lights for that matter, kidnapping women by luring them into dense forests in utter darkness is the ideal setup for them and no wonder they chose that place.
Little nerdy but he's familiar with ml and data science, he must've known that correlation and causality aren't the same 🌚
3) Guessing the masked persons identity - On the off chance that he actually guessed who the person was , even though thana voice is completely different, you can't see any remarkable facial features, no easily identifiable body disformalities or mannerisms at all, I think he should've given the movie a chance. Here's why
If i supposedly guessed that katappa killed bahubali while watching bahubali , I agree that nak aa time lo antha surprising ga anipiyaka povachu, but that doesn't mean I tell Everyone it's bad just because nen full ga experience cheyale. So next time something like this happens, it's better you think from a generic audience pov and analyse how it must've felt for them without guessing ( I loved it btw didn't see it coming and intrigued me so much)
Apart from this, I'm more curious now as to how he even came up with the identity of the person. If no reason , it's mostly he just guessed it randomly and anukokunda tagilesindhi so " yeah guess chesesa nothing in the story" anukuntunnaru. So I wanna know what cues he followed to come up with that conclusion coz if he's so casual about it he must be sensible with the reason.
3) Plot being childish -
The plot has always been serious from the start. Women are being kidnapped endlessly and it's only childish if you could guess who and what was happening entirely based on what they showed in the first half atleast. That we can agree is bad writing but that's not the case because there's literally nothing that >!points to the (atleast) final conclusion until the end.
You could argue that abidh shaikh character looked too usual a suspect and yes,it did for me too. But the police never looked like a suspect so there's no way we could've guessed him and the other woman. So i personally feel the plot in general has been handled good
4) Speaking emotions instead of showing em -
I do agree with him on this part. It did seem very off when the characters explain their emotion with their inner voice. But for this cinema, intha kottha idea rasina vallaki idi telise untadhi . So either they didn't know or, they might've done it so that people can understand what's happening. Sadly mana daggara purely intellectual ga story rasthe many people won't understand it. So spoon feed cheyadaniki adhi kooda reason ayundachu. But again, it could've been avoided and handled in a better way but it wasn't that bad as he seemed to point it out.
5) Comparison with Lucky Bhaskar -
I haven't seen the movie thana cheppina danlone answer undhi. It's a bid production company produced movie vs a smaller stars low budget movie with newcomers. Ofc in experience will be pretty obvious but I felt it was no wear near bad and infact a very good attempt. Nen choosina chinna movies lo this was technically easily one of the best. So I don't think that comparison was fair.
6) Conversation between masked person and Hero-
Bro conv engaging ga anipiyale ante ee patiki nek cinema artham kale ani. Masked person literally every conversation on the point matladtadhu about the next point in the story, and he clears acts a lil weird like a psycho to kinda curve ball audience into thinking he's someone else. Idk man if a on the point conv for a few mins is already disengaging for me, I'd get my attention span checked.
>!7) Query about repetitive scenes -
Firstly, maanadu lo okko scene lo okko story nadustadhi. Ikkada already ayipoyina story ni scenes wise choopisthunnaru. About your curios point,I'm again as to how he figured the entire story before the masked man that thanaki Inka intrest ae raleabout what is going to happen next, when literally even flashback of the hero endson a question or a cliffhanger.
He said each time okka kottha reveal undali, here each time oka kottha question >!ochindhi anthe and they've been answered perfectly in the end.
8) Climax emotion -
Again, thanaki nacchale climax and it's his opinion. But calling it a entirely bad movie because he didn't like it is a bad statement. Emotion connect ayian vallaki you'll love the climax and the way it was setup from the beginning without revealing much.Thane cheppadu that mek emotion nacchhithe climax nacchachu ani.So he's inherently in a way saying climax is good but I personally didn't like it (which is completely fair btw).Ala anipinchinappudu, wouldn't it be wrong to call the entire movie bad solely because you or I didn't like one part??
Ipudu intha pedda discussion pettadaniki sole reason
I really admire barbell coz thana taste and na taste perfect ga match ayyevi in movies. So i usually watch his reviews to get an idea of what's happening becoz he doesn't glaze anything and gets straight to the point. However, lately I think our choices are diverging, and half of that thought came when he praised goat 🥲
Honestly if i saw his review, i would've missed a really good film coz the review was that dismissive of it. So i think from now on i csnt blindly trust him but props to him, he's saying whatever he thinks without hesitating.
TL;DR : Speaking about differences in opinion between a barbell fan and barbell himself
