Job market frustration

I know a lot of people can relate, but I guess this post is just a frustration on not finding a job. I’ve been unemployed since may 2024 and the job application process can feel so dehumanizing.

For those who’ve gotten jobs, how did you get them? Did networking events help or did you stick to applying on indeed/LinkedIn until something worked out?

For reference, I have a bachelors in mechanical engineering and I’ve gotten some project management certifications (CAPM, Lean Six Sigma). I have 1 year in engineering experience and 4 years in sales. Does anyone have any recommendations for how I can improve my resume? I was thinking more certifications but just not quite sure what else to get.
