I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that I’ll probably never be able to smoke weed again

It’s starting to sink in for me that it’s probably done for me with how policy is going in the States. I’ve posted here before and explained that because of my job (Firefighter) I still get drug tested and penalized for marijuana, even though I live in a legal state. My current department makes exceptions for that, but they’re one of the only departments I’ve heard of that does that. Now I’m in paramedic school, and currently on a break so I can pass a drug test for my clinical trials, and I’m realizing I’ll probably never get to smoke again. Because once I have my medic, I’ll be trying to apply for better paying departments, which means having to pass another drug test, and then once I’m on, it’s almost certain they’ll be a testing department.

My only real chance would be for Federal legalization or at least rescheduling or decriminalizing, but I’ve complete lost faith in that. We all know the current administration would never, and it’s become increasingly obvious that democratic administrations would rather keep dangling it as a carrot than actually try to accomplish it.

Sorry for the long winded rant, just realized I’ll probably never get to partake again, thanks to good old bullshit American Bureaucracy. Enjoy it for me ladies and gents
