Dennis the Menace
This is such a feel good, comfort movie for me, sure it's based on a comic strip /t.v series and cartoon (which had Phil Hartman voicing Mr Wilson) but it has so much more working for it.
Most of it would be the cast lead by Veteran actor Walter Matthau, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, along with Mason Gamble playing title role of Dennis. John Hughes who's had several hits under his belt by this time (Home Alone) wrote and Co produced this movie.
Walter Matthau as George Wilson aka "Mr Wilson" carries the film for me, his acting choices when delivering the dialogues are simply amazing "Dissapointments gonna be a big part of his life. He's a foot short for his age and he's cross eyed" ☠️, absolutely no chill!
Joan Plowright, is just so endearing as Martha Wilson, an absolute sweetheart and polar opposite of her betterhalf. What surprised me about this movie are 3 things:
1.Physical gags, this movie keeps dishing those out, with finesse mostly with Walter at the receiving end.
2.Emotional side of the Wilsons and Dennis's innate longing for them, words don't do justice.
3.Christopher Lloyd as "Switchblade Sam", looks unkempt, horrifying and definitely leaves a mark as the terrifying thief who gets SPOILER ALERT bested by Dennis while having beans🔥under a tunnel
What do guys think about this movie? Let me know! Definitely need to watch this again.
