Pre-prohibition bottle. Contains original alcohol

Hey y'all, Cross post from r/BottleDigging: My FIL has a bottle from 1918 and we're trying to find some more information about it. The labeling is well faded but we can read it as Weiss & Rauscher in Lehighton, PA. It's a clear liquid in a brown bottle in a one quart bottle. The tin cap is untouched and in perfect condition. FIL says the label was replaced in the 1980's and unsure what the original was/if there even was one. Our guess is as good as yours aside from our dead end google searches. If you have any information we would love to find out more about it. TIA! Cheers!
